Don has been our Assistant Pastor/ Deacon for Senior Adult Ministries since September 1, 2020.  He  is a retired Deacon and certified Christian Educator (All Ages)  in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.  He served 40 years in and from the conference including 30 years in ordained ministry and 10 years as a consecrated Diaconal Minister.  He was honored to be ordained in the very first class of Deacons in Full Connection in the history of the North Georgia Conference.

Don sees ministry as a journey full of adventures with God.   He has served churches in five states ( Texas (where he went to seminary at Southern Methodist University), his home state of Georgia, South Carolina, Arkansas, and now with us here in Virginia.

He absolutely loves the Senior Adult Ministry and is thrilled to serve here in semi-retirement. He has also fallen in love with the beauty of the Roanoke Valley whatever the season.  His passions in ministry  are Spiritual Growth, Program Planning, and helping with Congregational Care.  His hobbies include walking, writing, simple cooking,  traveling, and catching up with his siblings and their families in Georgia.
