Hills Weekday School
The Weekday school strives to have a program that will meet the needs of every child at his/her own development level. Our program shall try to develop independence, a cooperative spirit and a sense of inner satisfaction and well being. If a child feels good about his/herself, there is no limit to what may be achieved.
Program
A Mothers Day Out program is offered for children 1 year old and walking - 2 1/2 years old.
The Weekday School offer a 1 or 2 day a week program for 2 1/2 year olds. their school day is from 9:00-11:45.
The 3 year old program consists of a 2 day, Tuesday-Thursday, or 3 day, Monday-Tuesday-Thursday option.
We offer 3 day, 4 day, or 5 day programs for 4 and 5 year olds. The 4 day classes meet Monday thru Thursday. For the 3 day classes, parents may choose 3 days from Monday thru Thursday.
The 3 year old, 4 year old, and 5 day classes meet from 9:00-12:00. An optional extended lunch session until 1:00 is offered Monday thru Thursday for an additional fee.
Chapel is conducted for the 3 year old, 4 year old, and 5 day classes on a bi-monthly basis
Classroom Activities
The preschool day has a balance of organized activities and free choice activities. Our classrooms are large and bright. Each room is equipped with blocks, puzzles, books, housekeeping area, toys, and manipulative materials. Art projects are completed daily. Field trips are taken to enhance the 4 year old and 5 day curriculums. Monthly activity calendars are sent home to enhance communication between home and school. A daily snack is provided.
Our Staff
Our teaching staff all possess degrees in early childhood education, elementary education or equivalent experiences in the child care field. A music and physical education teacher are also on staff.
Enrollment
Enrollment begins in January for the following school year. Children must be the appropriate age by September 30th. First preference for enrollment is given to members of Windsor Hills United Methodist Church, followed by families currently attending the Weekday School. New applications are accepted beginning the first week in February. We invite prospective parents to visit and observe our program.
